Things To Do On Your Boat

Boating is the perfect way to make the most of a lovely day, but sometimes just cruising around isn’t enough by itself. Host A Party

If your boat is big enough—or if the group is small enough—it can be a great place to host a themed party or two.

Picnics

A checkered blanket in a shady part of a park is nice and all, but a picnic on the water can be a new way to experience a great lunch! Put together a list of classic summer jams, throw down that blanket, and break out the food. If you have a marine grill, you can even make your own maritime s’mores! Focus on simple, do-it-yourself meals to make prep easier, like sandwiches or a mini-taco bar. 

For something a little smaller, try a dinner date! There’s nothing like the ambience of gentle waves lapping against the hull to set the mood for a date night. Make yourself that picnic dinner, but go for some smoother music instead. String lights and some electric candles can help tip the scales a bit further towards “romantic!”

Dance Party

For those with a spacious deck, you’ve got yourself a floating dance floor. Drop anchor, turn on a bluetooth speaker, and strut your stuff for any passing vessels. Just try to avoid being overly loud at night—sound can carry on the water.

Movie Night

No matter where you go, in the modern world you’re just a laptop and downloaded movie or DVD away from a great movie night. Bring some popcorn and candy and curl up under a blanket to watch a movie under the stars. If you have room, consider hanging up a sheet and bringing a projector!

Remote Control Boat Races

Whether you’re young or just young at heart, remote control vehicles are always a blast. Boating provides a unique opportunity as well, so grab yourself some remote control boats and bring them with you next time you hit the water. Venture out to a low-traffic area of the water, drop anchor, and get to racing!
